Consider:

The need is desperate!

There is a desperate need for the Christian literature that is gathering dust on our shelves Australia is a wealthy country for many reasons. One of these is the quantity of Christian books and Bibles that can be found in nearly every Christian home. This is not the case in most countries, as some people may pray for years before receiving a Bible. Millions of people around the world have no access to even a portion of God’s Word and could not afford to buy a Bible, let alone the latest Christian book.

WHY?
Australia is a wealthy country for many reasons. One of these reasons is the reserve of Christian literature that one can find in nearly every Christian family home. The quantity of bibles that can be found in one home is encouraging. However, we must realise that some people may pray for years before receiving a Bible. Jesus said, he who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food do likewise (Luke 3:11). We certainly have an abundance of spiritual food in printed form which needs to be collected and distributed to those who have little and cannot afford to buy. Millions of Christians have no access to even a portion of god’s word. People in PNG, Fiji, Vanuatu and other Pacific nations, for example, who live a subsistence life style, cannot afford to buy a bible, let alone the latest in Christian books. There is, for many Christians overseas a very desperate need for good quality Christian literature and bibles.

We as a literature mission are taking up the challenge, especially for the situation in our part of the world. These books and bibles etc may be second hand to us but will be life giving to many. Our desire and aim is to collect and provide second hand Christian books, videos and bibles, along with subsidised new literature, to people overseas in need of Christian literature.

Once these books have been collected, they will be sorted and selected for shipment to organizations overseas that have a structure to distribute them either free or at affordable prices. Pacific BookLink has also established a second handbook bookshop to sell some of these books to generate funds to pay for the shipping costs etc.

As we catch the vision, realise the potential of second hand Christian literature and then respond and release it, people’s lives will be changed and Christians will grow in their faith and understanding of God
Today, there is a book famine in many countries in the world!
There is a rapidly exploding growth of the church in Third World type countries and many cannot buy Christian Literature because of economic crises, currency restrictions and other factors. There is a hunger for and shortage of the Word of God! There is a pathetic non-availability of study books for pastors and church leaders. Through second hand literature... People’s lives will be changed and Christians will grow in their faith and understanding of God.

Because of their Lifestyle, many cannot even afford to buy Christian Literature. People from Third World countries cannot grasp the thought that we may have four or five Bibles while millions of Christians have no access to even a portion of God’s Word.

What is being done to help?

The scriptures say, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food do likewise.” -Luke 3:11

Do you have some extra spiritual food sitting on your shelf that could bless a Christian in a less-privileged country?

CLC Christian BookLink provides a link between you and those who are experiencing a famine of Bibles and Christian books. Our desire is to serve as a collection point for these valuable books and partner with organizations overseas including CLC that have the structure to distribute them at affordable prices.

We as a literature mission need to take up the challenge, especially for the situation in our part of the world. These books and Bibles etc may be second hand to us but will be life giving to many. Our desire and aim is to collect and provide second hand Christian books, videos and Bibles, along with subsidised new literature, to people overseas in need of Christian literature. Will it also be yours?

Once these books have been collected, they will be sorted and selected for shipment to organizations overseas that have a structure to distribute them either free or at affordable prices. We envision that in the future Christian Book Link (Pacific Branch) could establish a second handbook bookshop to sell books and generate funds to pay for the shipping costs etc. But for the moment we depend on the generousity of fellow Christian and profit generated from our bookstores to raise the funds for shipping costs.
